Speaking of Country singers, one of my favorites is Ms Reba McEntire. I found this video today on You Tube of her version of Fancy, in my opinion it is top notch. I miss her TV show, but then nothing good lasts forever, as they say. Hope you enjoy the song and the video.
A buddy of mine bought some real good tickets to concerts at the Houston Rodeo which is currently under way. But his mother has become ill and he will not be able to attend. He has been asking around to see if anyone would be interested in purchasing them from him, actually at this point he would be willing to just give them away so as not to see them go to waste. I personally would love to go, but it is too last minute for me to make arrangements. Even though I am self employed and have a bit of flexibility I still have obligations to meet that I need to tend to.
I haven’t been to a rodeo is a long time. There really isn’t a big call for rodeos up here in Maine, so the choices are pretty limited. But I have been to a few, out of state, and they really are a blast. Something that a lot of people are in to and I’m glad that they are still popular. They are usually affordable and you definitely get your monies worth, the events go on for a good long time and there is a lot going on all the time.
The Houston Rodeo is offering entertainment after the rodeo and has plenty of top name performers lined up this year. I looked it up online and they have Gary Allen, Keith Urban, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson and many more performing this year. Maybe next year, if I get my ducks in a row I’ll see about attending. It should be a blast.
Hopefully this weekend we will still be experiencing some of this nice weather that we have been enjoying lately. There is a new flea market that just opened up that the wife and I would like to visit. Going to a flea market is a good way to spend a few hours. It gets us outside, out of the house, it’s good exercise and we always meet some of the nicest people there and on occasion we manage to find a nice treasure to bring home.
YouTube is full of the most wonderful music and videos. I find myself spending more and more time there looking up music, old and new and from all walks of life. U2 has always been one of my favorite bands through out the years and I’m pleased to find a good amount of their music on YouTube. This particular song “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” is one of my favorites.
I don’t have any idea why this artist popped into my head a few minutes ago, but I started to wonder whatever happened to Tiny Tim. I know he eventually married Miss Vicky, but I don’t rememberhearing anything about him at all in many many years. I don’t even know if he is still alive?
I remember the first time I saw him perform. I think it was on “Laugh-In.” In fact, it might have been this very clip that I found on YouTube! What a laugh!
I’d love to see re-runs of “Laugh-In!” I wonder if there are any on television?
