I spent a couple of hours last night carving pumpkins to give to my customers today.  It was so much fun to see their faces when I gave them their own custom carved jack-o-lanterns!  I’ve always enjoyed carving pumpkins; that’s something I used to do with my father when I was a little kid.  My mother used to always roast the pumpkin seeds, too, which I’ve always enjoyed eating later!

I was surprised to read about the Cuban athlete who attacked a referee during an Olympic match, and now he (and his coach) have been banned from competition for life.  What a fiasco that must have been!  The athlete, Angel Matos apparently had been injured during the Taekwondo match and he was declared the loser because he exceeded the one minute time out limit.  He was so upset that he kicked the referee in the face!  No wonder he has been banned for life!

The local Harley shop was having a big open house celebration this past weekend, so I decided to go to the event and check it out.  There was a live broadcast being done by a local radio station, lots of free food and sodas, and they were having discounts on just about everything in the store.  I ended up buying a new detachable windshield for my Harley.  I was impressed with how easily it can be installed and removed.  I installed it right there at the shop - they let me borrow the tools to do it.  It was funny because all I needed was an allen wrench!  Anyway, when I drove home I noticed that with the new windshield on the bike, I wasn’t feeling the wind hitting me, so I was driving faster than I thought!  It will take a while to adjust to that!

I was browsing the Internet, just looking around and stumbled on a website called stunning-stuff.com.  It looks like it has not been updated in a couple of years, which is too bad because I really enjoyed reading it!  It is full of strange, weird, funny news.  The topics vary greatly, from sex to animals to technology, to crime, to health.  I’ve spent about the last hour just going from story to story, really enjoying the site!

It was extremely windy the other day and I didn’t have too much going, so I told my wife I was going to go fly my new kite that I got for my birthday.  She just laughed, but as I was going out the door she asked if she could go with me.  We went down to a big field by the school where there is lots of room and I took it out of the package.  I forgot to mention that is was a six foot airplane, shaped like a jet!  As soon as I launched it it started climbing and climbing and climbing!  I was impressed by how quickly it got up in the air!  We played with it for probably an hour.  Now I wasn’t paying much attention, and the wind was blowing and my wife was saying something, but I couldn’t hear her.  So she finally tapped me on the shoulder and I leaned over so I could hear what she was saying.  She was saying “look, look!”  So I looked over and she was pointing, there were about six cars parked beside the road, watching me fly the kite!  As I looked a little closer, one of the cars had some kids in it and they had gotten out and were standing in front of the car, watching the kite.  I felt pretty good about that!  I flew the kite for probably about another half hour, because I had other things to do.  When I finally brought the kite in, the kids seemed kinda disappointed.  I don’t think they had ever seen a kite that big!  As soon as we get another windy day I hope I’m not too busy because I want to fly it again; it was great!
