A few friends and I went snowmobiling for a few hours last Sunday. We went up and down some camp roads, and along a trail that goes across the pond. Afterwards we all came to my place for a few drinks and a couple of nice steaks, popped some popcorn and watched a Harry Potter DVD. I know it sounds crazy, but we all like the Harry Potter movies! So all in all, we had a nice time.
We have had a lot of snow this winter – an unusual amount! It seems like it snows for three or four or even five days, then we have two days of sun, then snow again. This winter is making up for the mild winters of recent years past! The snowplow guys are sure making money this year – but they must be exhausted! We had a little bit of warmer weather and some rain on Monday, which made for a real mess when it froze up again overnight! I don’t know anyone around here that will be sad to see the end of this winter!
I know there is a romantic history behind Valentine’s Day, but I really think that it is one holiday that should just be canned. I don’t need the pressure of trying to make my wife feel extra loved by giving her candy and flowers and cards and taking her out to dinner on Valentine’s Day. I like to do that at random times throughout the year. I don’t need or want some marketing scheme to ram it down my throat! I think Valentine’s Day makes single people feel really bad, that they are single. I think Valentine’s Day is one holiday we should just ignore.
I have been a big fan of learning on the web since I first got online. There is such a wealth of knowledge available on the world wide web, and it seems to be getting better! I have spent hours and hours reading and learning new information online, and it has really helped me in so many ways, now there are even easier ways for people to learn online. There seem to be tutorials everywhere I look, and now some universities are offering free classes! I think that the direction the Internet is going is wonderful!
